Grace C. Anderson

Mar 22, 1913 – Feb 16, 2006

GRACE C. ANDERSON Racine- Mrs. Grace C. (nee: Griena) Anderson, 92, passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Care Center, a place she had called home for the past three years, on Thursday, February 16, 2006. She was born in Scandinavia, WI on March 22, 1913 to the late Peter and Ida (nee: Hanson) Griena. Mrs. Anderson has lived in Racine since 1941. On February 5, 1931, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Milo B. Anderson, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1994. Although her number one priority and greatest joy in life was being a loving homemaker, Mrs. Anderson was employed by several places many years ago. She worked for Western Publishing, in the kitchen at Westview Nursing Home, and as an extremely creative pastry chef at the Hob Nob on Sixth Street. Mrs. Anderson was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting, donating many of her beautiful creations to others. Her cooking was nothing less than outstanding and was especially known for her tasty Norwegian desserts and chocolate chip cookies. She will be fondly missed! Surviving are her children, Betty (Leo Prevost) Boehme of Racine; Marvin (Carol) Anderson of Ocala, FL; Eileen Frederickson and Michael (Deborah) Anderson, both of Racine; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Mildred (Victor) Theil on Manawa, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her dear friends at Lincoln Manor and Ridgewood Care Center. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna Boehme; sons-in-law, Tom Olive, Donald “Jack” Boehme, and Jack Frederickson; and brother, Sidney (Florence) Griena. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio Street, at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Melvin A. Miritz officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 am. In honor of Grace’s true appreciation for music, memorials to the music department at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection are encouraged. A special heartfelt note of thanks to all the nurses, aides and staff at Ridgewood Care Center-One East for the tender loving care and support that was so warmly extended to Grace and to our family. God bless all of you!
