Penny Rose Kutis

Apr 23, 1944 – Mar 11, 2006

Penny Rose Kutis Racine – Mrs. Penny Rose Kutis, 61, died with her family by her side, at her residence, after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, March 11, 2006. She was born in Abeline, TX on April 23, 1944 to the late William and Irene (nee: Hovorka) Fritch. She graduated from Wilmot High School in 1962. On February 19, 1965, she married Michael R. Kutis at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilmot. Penny was employed by All Saints Medical Center for over 20 years. For the past few years, she fondly worked at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at church by decorating, ushering and helping in the sacristy. Penny spent her free time antiquing. She operated her own antique business in various antique malls. She also loved to tend her garden, especially her tulips, daisies and lilacs. However, Penny was happiest when she was caring for her family. In addition to her loving husband, Michael, her survivors include her children, Michael (Ann) Kutis of Gaston, IN, Tracy Sackman of Weyauwega, WI, Tom (Leticia) Kutis of Racine; grandchildren, Amanda and Jacob Sackman, Mitchell, Greg and Beatrice Kutis; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Gary) Jahr, Rudy (Barbara) Kutis and Joe (Stephanie) Kutis all of Racine. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring St.) on Thursday, March 16, 2006 for a public visitation from 9-11 a.m. The celebration of her life and funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. The service will conclude with her burial at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy 32. Memorials have been suggested to the All Saints Cancer Center. Penny’s family wishes to thank Covenant Hospice and especially all of the parishioners of St. Paul the Apostle for the loving care and support that they all received during her illness.

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

My Aunt, Alvera Van Brunt, was adamant about not having a funeral; with Mike Langendorf’s skills and refreshing open personality, we were able to meet her desires and also give her family and friends a chance for final goodbyes.
