
James G. Andersen Racine – James G. Andersen, 81, died at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. A lifelong resident of Racine, he was born on March 17, 1925 to the late George and Cecelia (nee: Adam) Andersen. On July 19, 1947, he married the former Dorothy Douglas. James served his country in the Philippines with the US Navy during WWII. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1980 after 33 years of service. He was baptized at Holy Name Catholic Church and remained a lifelong member. He was also a member of the VFW and NALC. In his younger years, James enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy, his survivors include his six children, Rita Johnson of Waupaca, WI, Gary (Penny) Andersen of Weyauwega, WI, Dona (Bob) Murray of Racine, Dale (Fawn) Andersen of Manawa, WI, June (Barry, Jr.) Schultz of Sturtevant, Glen Andersen of Weyauwega, WI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Cremer of Racine; sister-in-law, Kathleen Kruse of South Milwaukee; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents his brother-in-law, Richard Cremer and sister-in-law, Gertrude Brunning also preceded him in death. The celebration of James’ funeral Mass will be held at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church (1503 Grand Ave.) on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Paul Daniels officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Friday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. Cremation will follow the Mass. Memorials in his name may be directed to St. Richard’s School.
