Shirley Ann Lojeski

Oct 12, 1934 – Jun 10, 2006

RACINE- Shirley Ann Lojeski, 71, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded with the love of her family, on Saturday evening, June 10, 2006 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. A lifetime resident, Shirley was born in Racine on October 12, 1934 to the late Harry and Mortina (nee: Bording) Tolfson. A graduate of Washington Park High School, she retired from Farm and Fleet as a department manager. On February 28, 1953 in Crown Point, IN she was united in marriage with Frank Raymond Lojeski, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1993. Among her interests, Shirley was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and could often be found trying her luck on slot machines in the casinos of Las Vegas. Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her family, especially around a warm campfire. She will be deeply missed. Surviving are her son, Brian (fiancé, Jean Grabarec) Lojeski; daughter, Tina (Dennis) Sadowski; grandchildren, Jaimee and Alyssa Lojeski; Daniel and Michael Sadowski; Jeff and Bekki Grabarec; great-grandson, Cody; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald Lojeski, Robert (Sharon) Lojeski, Judy Lojeski, Donna Rognerud, Juliann (Frank) Sharkozy, Mary Ann Lojeski, and Jean Lojeski; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Lojeski, on May 17, 1975; brother, Harry (Gert) Tolfson; sisters, Beverly (Dick) Manderfeld and Fern (Stanley) Fisher; and by brothers-in-law, William and Wally Lojeski. In honoring Shirley’s request, private funeral services will take place with her children and grandchildren. Interment will be held in West Lawn Memorial Park. In memory of Shirley, memorials to Covenant Hospice, American Cancer Society, or to The Jane Cremer Foundation (a women’s cancer awareness and education outreach program) have been suggested. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the following angels of Covenant Hospice for their loving and compassionate care- Julie “Doodie”, Jackie, Kathy, Shelley and David.
