Allison Sue Tryba

Racine- Allison Sue Tryba, 23, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Wheaton Franciscan – St. Mary’s Medical Center on Sunday morning, August 27, 2006. Allison was joyfully born into the lives of Lyle E. and Susan G. (nee: Perman) Tryba on March 29, 1983. Although born with the challenging syndrome of Cornelia de Lange, she proudly graduated from Washington Park High School in 2003. Allison was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Allison was involved in life, and loved to go. A day did not go by that Allison was not going somewhere; to the store, a movie, a walk around town, a festival, or to watch her sister play ball. She loved to attend parades and her favorites were always the police cars and fire trucks. Allison would always have a smile on her face wherever she would go, and a smile was always returned by whoever she would meet. She would greet EVERYONE (you know who you are!) with a handshake, hug, or wave. Allison was given a special gift from God, a gift of Love and how to share that love. She did not know hatred, envy, greed or prejudice, Allison only knew how to love! Allison’s love was not just felt in Racine, Allison loved to travel. Her love was felt from the Ohio Valley, to the Mississippi River, from Upper Michigan to the Gulf Coast Regions. She even made Mickey Mouse smile in both California and Florida. She even touched a heart or two in South Dakota, Colorado, Arizona, and saw a few shows in Las Vegas (she loved her shows!). Some might even call Allison a world traveler vacationing in Mexico and Canada. A few years back Allison saw Archbishop Timothy Dolan at Italian Fest just before he was about to lead the parade, and as Allison could only do, she locked onto his robe with one hand and his staff with the other. The Archbishop knew she wasn’t letting go so he looked down and said “ok little one, you and I will lead this parade”. They walked for a while, and she let go, but not before she gave a little tug on his robe and waved good bye. As much as Allison enjoyed going, she also treasured her quiet times at home looking through her numerous picture books and watching her 4 DVD seasons of ER. Allison was the joy and laughter in our lives! Surviving are her heartbroken parents, Lyle and Sue; devoted sister, who was Allison’s best friend, Ashley; Ashley’s boyfriend, whom Allison was so fond of, Ken Kiepczynski; maternal grandmother, Grace Perman; paternal grandparents, Veronica and Ernest Tryba, all of Racine; aunt Judith (Peter) Stockton of Cedarburg; aunt and godmother Linda (Rick) Vanderhoef of Racine; uncle, Les (Jan) Tryba of Spartanburg, SC; cousins, Jason Smith of Cedarburg; Kurt Vanderhoef of Waukesha; Kari Vanderhoef of Milwaukee; Karleen Vanderhoef of Racine; and Willie Smith of Spartanburg, SC; her dedicated caregivers, Sarah Reidenbach and Robin Weatherwax, both of Racine; many, many other special relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Allison was preceded in death by her grandfather, Otto Perman, on July 16, 2006. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, at 7:15 pm with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. A reception at the church will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 5-7 pm. Cremation will take place after the services. In honor of Allison, memorials to the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, Inc. have been suggested. A sincere note of thanks to the dozens of people involved, including the Mt. Pleasant Police and Fire Departments, Racine County Sheriff’s, and Racine Police, who worked so diligently and blocked every intersection from our home to the hospital; and to the incredibly compassionate staff at St. Mary’s-ER, who did everything in their power in trying to save our precious Allison’s life on Sunday morning.
