Jason Howard Bassinger, 29, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Friday, September 8, 2006. Jason was born on April 6, 1977. He was engaged to be married on September 16, 2006 to Danielle Kechter. He had attended Case High School and was employed at Johnson Diversey, Inc. Jason had a wonderful talent for drawing, especially graphic design, tribal art and flowers. If he wasn’t drawing, he enjoyed tinkering on cars. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jason loved going fishing with his grandpa Jerry in Racine and in Florida. He did catch a big one. In addition to his fiancée, Danielle Kechter, Jason is survived by his father, Jeff Bassinger of Pine Isalnd, FL; mother, Ilona Reutter of Racine; step-mother, Wanda Bassinger of Friendship; daughter, Jaslinn Bassinger, future step-daughter, Shantel Ramsey; brother, Derek Neuman; sister, Leah Ksawchuk; grandparents, Jerry and Judy Bassinger, James and Valerie Drozdowski, Diana all of Racine, Gerhard Reutter of Germany; special aunts and uncles, Jill Bassinger, Jodi (David) Douglass, Gerald Reutter; close friends, Jason Kechter, Wayne Sura all of Racine, as well as many other relatives and friends. They all loved him dearly and will sadly be missed for a very long time. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Gary and Mildred Haarsma and Howard and Millie Bassinger. Family and friends are invited to meet at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at noon for a service celebrating and remembering Jason’s life with Rev. Paul Vanderberg officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
