Evelyn Reynolds

May 11, 1927 – Sep 7, 2006

Evelyn Reynolds, 79, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Thursday, September 7, 2006 following a brief, but intense illness. Evelyn was born on May 11, 1927 in New Albany, MS, one of twelve children born to Clarence and Lou Ella (nee: Golden) McNeal. She graduated from New Albany High School. She accepted Jesus as her personal savior at a young age while a member of Shiloh Methodist Church in New Albany. It was there that the seeds of love for God were planted. In addition to her biological family she treasured her church family at Church of God Revival Center, Prophetess Dorothy Jackson, pastor. As a youth she learned to appreciate and enjoy hard work, as did he siblings. She grew up in a very loving and nurturing family, which enabled her to present her children with the same. Home and family were of utmost importance to her. Her house was a home where she spent countless enjoyable hours with family. She retired from Modine manufacturing after 22 years of service. She leaves to mourn her memory one daughter, Mary (Tommie Scruggs, special friend) Helena; one son, Linnex (Jackie) Reynolds; one adopted daughter, Georgia (John) Mosley all of Racine; grandsons, Linnex Reynolds and Dejaun Reynolds both of Racine; granddaughter, Tashari Reynolds of Rochester, MN; great grandson, Tutu; sister, Mavis Strong; brother, Haves McNeal; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth McNeal all of Racine; special family friend, Sister Mary Dawson of Milwaukee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George A. Reynolds; brothers and sisters, Freddie, Ezell, Lenner, Charlie and Hermie McNeal, Autry Moore, Odell Brownlee, Inez Hinton, Eteria Freeman and beloved grandson, Aaron Woods. Her funeral service will be held in the Higher Dimension Church of God in Christ (1500 Grange Ave.) on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Atkins and Rev. Adrian Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. There will be a visitation in the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
