Gladys S. Walton

Dec 7, 1920 – Sep 16, 2006

Gladys S. Walton, 85, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Saturday, September 16, 2006. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on December 7, 1920, but had been a Racine resident for most of her life. She was married to Louis F. Walton in Jefferson, Arkansas on September 4, 1937. He has preceded her in death. Gladys was a homemaker in the truest sense. She took great pride in caring for her family, cooking their favorite meals, and sewing for them. She was a strong woman who taught her children how to be independent, and led them by way of her loving and caring example. Gladys was a faithful member of the Midtown Church of Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Shirley A. Driver; sons Louis Walton, Jr., Valdemer Walton, Adrian Walton, Adrial Walton, and Bobby Walton, all of Racine; 29 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including her dear friend Cody. She was also preceded by her sons, Phayon Walton and Ricky Walton; grandson Jeffery Driver; son-in-law Willie Wade Driver; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Midtown Church of Christ with Brother Kennon Olison and Brother Howard Puryear officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the service.

Testimonials

Katlynn “Kiki” Stanke & the Family of Karl Stanke

Mike and the staff went above and beyond during our very difficult time with passing of our Opa. Mike helped relieve the immense stress by being extremely professional, paying attention to the smallest details and the overall kindness and compassion in caring for our family at our time of need. We do not believe that a thank you truly covers our deep gratitude towards you. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
