
Mrs. Violet D. Hansen, 87, died at her residence on Thursday, October 26, 2006. She was born on Washington Island, in Door County, on March 11, 1919, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (nee: Johnson) Chambers. In February of 1942, in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Ellis Hansen, who preceded her in death in July of 1988. She had been employed by Eaton Mfg. for over 25 years, retiring in early 1980. She was a very active member of the Baptist Tabernacle, where she served as a deaconess. She was a generous, caring and loving woman whom will be dearly missed! Surviving are her 2 sons, Robert Hansen of Milwaukee and Wayne Hansen of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Kenneth (Vanett) Chambers of North Palm Beach, FL; her nieces, Leslie Broniszewski, Lauren Reilly, Dorothy Queen, and Darlene Queen; and by her beloved cousins, Jean Anderson, Everell Boyle, Carol Jornt and Ruby Andersen. She is further survived by other relatives, friends and, of course, her church family. In addition to her parents and her husband; she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Queen. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st, in the Baptist Tabernacle, 7951-36th Ave., with Rev. Duane Anderson officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Baptist Tabernacle – Kenosha or to Bethel Church – Washington Island.

Vi Hansen was a great part of my growing up and will be greatly missed. She was a great influence in my life. Although I moved away you were always in my mind. I have many great memories of time spent with friends and family of the Hansens. My sympathies go out to the whole Hansen family.
