Dale Vernon Roushia

Jun 25, 1941 – Jan 2, 2007

Dale V. Roushia, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1941, son of the late Maurice and Juanita (nee: Brechtbill) Roushia. He was a lifetime Racine resident. On June 30, 1962 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church he was united in holy matrimony to Janet J. Kielar. Dale retired in 2001 from JI Case, where he had worked as a machinist 38 years. In his free time he enjoyed watching sporting events on TV and in the stadium, playing cards and cribbage, and traveling with Janet on weekend trips throughout the state. He will be most remembered as a dedicated family man. He was devoted to his wife and children, and loved to spend time with his grandkids. Dale was a member of the JI Case 20-year club, and St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church. Dale is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet; their children, Dale (Alice) Roushia of Newburg, Indiana, Deborah (James) Ostergaard of Racine, and Daniel (Cindi) Roushia of Davis, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Bridget Roushia, Zachary and Hunter Ostergaard, Justin, Jason, Jacob, and Jennifer Roushia; sisters, Donna Kieliszewski, and Maurine (Bill) Eisel; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his brothers, Wayne and Eugene Roushia; and his sisters, Janice Maki and Anita Leisner. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Allen J. Bratkowski officiating. Committal services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the funeral home Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and then continue in the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:15a.m. Memorials to Dialysis West have been suggested.
