Kenosha- Alfred Kopp, 79, passed away peacefully in Kenosha at United Health System-St. Catherine’s Medical Center on Monday, March 19, 2007. Alfred was born in Wjasowitz, Ukraine on January 16, 1928 to Assaf and Adina (nee: Schilke) Kopp. He immigrated to Kenosha on November 22, 1951. On February 20, 1954 in Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Gertrude Jeuk. Years ago, Alfred began his career with Simmons and Peter Pirch. Following, he was employed by the Case Corp. for over 36 years until his retirement in September of 1989. Alfred was a member of Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church; MGV Harmonia Men’s Choir; and the Case 20 Year Club. Among his interests, he enjoyed woodworking and vegetable gardening. A true sports fan, Alfred was especially fond of soccer. Above all, he cherished being in the surroundings of his entire family and loved spoiling his grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of over 53 years, Gertrude; their sons, Edgar (Penny) Kopp of Appleton; Richard (Tracy) Kopp of Somers; and Michael Kopp of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Heather (Matthew) Meadows of Elk Grove, CA; James Kopp of Appleton; Joshua, Liam and Aaron Kopp of Somers; great-granddaughter, Madeline Meadows; brother, Leo (Sybille) Kopp of Babenhausen, Germany; sister, Elly Filz of Kenosha; sisters-in-law, Herta (Werner) Gibson of Wauwatosa and Frieda (Erwin) Neumann of Kenosha; and by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his sister, Angelika Kary; and brother-in-law, Gustav Filz. Funeral services will be held at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church, 5038 – 19th Avenue, on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Thomas Meissner officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Thursday from 4-8 pm and in the church on Friday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church, Shoreland Lutheran High School or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Feuerbach, Dr. Habel, and to all the wonderful staff at St. Catherine’s for the dedicated care and support that was so warmly extended to Opa and to our family. God bless all of you!

    Safely Home
    by Unknown

    I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
    Oh, so happy and so bright!
    There is perfect joy and beauty
    In this everlasting light.

    All the pain and grief is over,
    Every restless tossing passed;
    I am now at peace forever,
    Safely home in Heaven at last.

    Did you wonder I so calmly
    Trod the valley of the shade?
    Oh! but Jesus’ arm to lean on,
    Could I have one doubt or dread?

    Then you must not grieve so sorely,
    For I love you dearly still;
    Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,
    Pray to trust our Father’s Will.

    There is work still waiting for you,
    So you must not idly stand;
    Do it now, while life remaineth–
    You shall rest in Jesus’ land.

    When that work is all completed,
    He will gently call you Home;
    Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
    Oh, the joy to see you come!
    – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
    Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Our sympathies are with you.
    Michael, Christine and Jessica Ehemann

Testimonials

Thank you for an exceptional service for our mother – Juan Munoz

My siblings and I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to plan a funeral for our beloved mother – Juana Munoz. During this difficult time, we were fortunate enough to come across a funeral home that truly went above and beyond what was expected. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the entire process was truly remarkable.

From the moment we stepped foot into the funeral home, we were greeted with warmth and compassion. The staff members, but specifically Mark was incredibly understanding and empathetic, making us feel at ease during such a challenging time. Mark took the time to listen to our needs and wishes, and his guidance and support were invaluable.

One aspect that truly stood out was Mark’s meticulous attention to detail. He paid close attention to every aspect of the funeral arrangements, ensuring that nothing was overlooked. From the floral arrangements to the music selection, every detail was carefully considered and executed flawlessly. Mark even noticed that the temperature in the room was getting warm and promptly adjusted it to ensure our comfort.

What impressed me the most was their commitment to our safety. Mark and his team took every precaution to ensure that our family and guests were protected throughout the entire process. From the funeral home to the cemetery, Mark made sure that all safety measures were in place, including providing hand sanitizers, and even arranging for additional staff members to assist with crowd control.

Furthermore, Mark’s professionalism and organization was evident in every aspect of the funeral service. He coordinated seamlessly with the cemetery staff, ensuring a smooth transition from the funeral home to the final resting place. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly made a difference in our overall experience.

In addition to their exceptional service, the funeral home also provided us with resources and support beyond the funeral itself. They offered grief counseling services and connected us with local support groups, which proved to be invaluable during our grieving process.

Overall, we cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Mark and broader Draeger Langendorf team. Their attention to detail, commitment to our safety, and genuine compassion made a difficult time a little more bearable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of funeral arrangements, as they truly go above and beyond to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that families are supported throughout the entire process.

– Epifanio and The Munoz Family
