Earl W. Evenson

Sep 2, 1909 – Apr 19, 2007

RACINE – Earl W. Evenson, 97, passed away at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha on April 19, 2007. He was born in Racine on September 2, 1909, the son of the late Einer and Julia (nee: Grass) Evenson. On May 4, 1935, in Rogers Park, IL, he married the former Mildred B. Olsen. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2000. Mr. Evenson worked for J.I. Case Co. for over 38 years, retiring in 1974. Mr. Evenson was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, gardening and watching the Packers. Survivors include his daughter, Judith Habermas; grandchildren, Karl (Elizette) Habermas, Jill (David) Jarvis, Jenny Habermas; great grandchildren, Danielle (Mike) Dubiak, Stacy (Jamie) Hamilton, and Tom Christensen Jr. and by two great-great grandchildren, Hunter Hamilton, and Brianna Dubiak all of Racine. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Louis Habermas Jr. and by 2 sisters, Florence Payne and June Anastasio. A memorial service celebrating Earl’s life will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 with Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to either the Hope Safe House, Countryside Humane Society, or to your favorite charity. A special thanks to Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation and it’s staff for the care and compassion shown to Earl and his family during his stay there.
