Renee Marie Steinmetz

Oct 3, 1943 – Apr 29, 2007

Union Grove- Renee Marie Steinmetz, 63, passed away unexpectedly at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints Medical Center on Sunday, April 29, 2007 as the result of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. Renee was born in Tomah, WI on October 3, 1943 to the late Robert J. and Bernadine M. (nee: Gilner) Steinmetz. She lived in Kenosha / Racine for most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Kenosha and received her education from Salem Central High School. Renee had been employed by Badger Cork in Trevor until her retirement. An extreme fan of her favorite rock-n-roll legend, she named her devoted canine-companion, “Elvis”, in his honor. Renee’s number one priority in life was her family. She loved being in the surroundings of her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Surviving are her brothers, Robert (Karen) Steinmetz, Jr. of Portage; John (Carol) Steinmetz of Racine; Michael (Chris) Steinmetz, Kevin (Janet) Steinmetz, Anthony Steinmetz and Mark Steinmetz, all of Kenosha; sisters, Diane Steinmetz of Kokomo, IN and Therese (Ervin) Richtmyre of Kenosha; many special nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention by name, of whom Renee was so proud; sister-in-law, Marge Steinmetz; and brother-in-law, Joe DePaoli. In addition to her parents, Renee was preceded in death by her brothers, David, William and George Steinmetz; and by sisters, Cheryl DePaoli, Kathy (James) Anderson and Charmayne (Dale) Glasman. Funeral services celebrating Renee’s life will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm. Cremation will follow the services. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Tomah at a later date.
