Pontotoc, MS- Watson Earl “Sonny” Howze, 64, was called Home on May 6, 2007 in Pontotoc, MS. He leaves to cherish his memory- his wife, Carrie L. (nee: Dumas) Howze; daughters, Karen (Jeff) Hadley, Tina (Rodney) Howze, Beth Howze and April (Corey) Guenther; sons, Jeffrey Dumas and Tony (Benita) Howze; 17 “grands”; 12 “great-grands”; sisters, Betty Young-Howze and Maxine Northington; brother, Edron (Pat) Howze, Jr.; special buddies, Zeno Bell and Knorris Malone; and a host of other beloved relatives. Sonny was preceded in death by his special grandmother, Minnie (nee: Dyess) Smith; parents, Edron Sr. and Earlene Howze; and nephews, Louis Young Jr. and Timothy Young. Homegoing services will be celebrated on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 11 am in Searching Together Missionary Baptist Church, 825 21st Street, with Rev. Willie Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Viewing will be in the church on Thursday from 10-11 am.
