
RACINE – Miss Genevieve Marjorie Driver, 98, died at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on May 19, 2007. Miss Driver was born in Chicago on September 3, 1908, the daughter of David and Jessie (nee: Rendall) Driver. She graduated from U.W. Whitewater. A devoted educator, she worked as a schoolteacher in the Racine School District for 40 years, retiring in 1971. The schools in which she taught included; Janes, Wind Point and Mitchell. Miss Driver was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a fun and loving woman. She enjoyed a long life and was able to live in her own home until moving to Lincoln Village this past October. Her survivors include her niece, Arlene Tidyman of San Francisco; great nephew and great niece, William (Kate) Tidyman and Arlene (David) Morato both of California as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are very dear friends and caretakers; Mary and Rose Fumo and Steve and Debbie Szuhai all of Racine. Miss Driver was preceded in death by her sister, Jessie (Melvin) Tidyman and nephew, Melvin Tidyman. A memorial service celebrating Genevieve’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sandra Hanna officiating. A private inurnment will take place in the Graceland Cemetery Garden Niches. Memorials have been suggested to First Presbyterian Church in Racine.
