Edward Joseph Gryczkowski

Aug 19, 1928 – Jul 8, 2007

Racine- Edward J. Gryczkowski, 78, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Ed was born in Racine on August 19, 1928 to the late Peter and Anastasia (nee: Kuczinski) Gryczkowski. After graduating from Washington Park High School and proudly serving in the United States Navy, he was employed by Moeller Mfg., Barden Rubber Products, and J.I. Case Co., retiring in 1987. On May 26, 1951 in Holy Name Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Elaine D. Gryczkowski, who preceded him in death on March 8, 2006. They were longtime members of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping, fishing and any other thing he could do with his family. In his later years, he enjoyed gambling and watching the Green Bay Packers. Ed was a loving and devoted man who put family above all else. He lived a simple life, yet was a wonderful example of what a man and father should be. He profoundly touched all those who loved him. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Ronald and Randall (Cynthia) Gryczkowski; granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Gryczkowski; sister, Zosia Kowalski; brother, Stanley (Helen) Gryczkowski; brother-in-law, Richard (Aggie) Bentson; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Mania Bentson; and brother and best friend, Casimir Gryczkowski. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 am. In memory of Ed, memorials to St. Jude’s Shrine (512 W. Saratoga St., Baltimore, MD 21201) has been suggested.
