Larry Cornel White

May 13, 1958 – Jul 11, 2007

Racine- Larry Cornel White, 49, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Larry was born in Racine on May 13, 1958 to the late Willie Lee and Lottie (nee: Smith) White. In August of 1981, he was united in marriage with Carmen Streeter. Larry had been employed as a stationary engineer at Racine Steel Castings and Walker Forge. He was also an all-around handyman who was willing to help out anyone in need. Larry would often be seen driving around-town in his white Cadillac. A man that was small in stature but had a heart larger than life itself. May he rest in peace! Surviving are his wife, Carmen; children, Shaqueta Streeter and James Barker, Jr.; step-children, Cecelia Alvarez, Lisa Williams and J.J. Williams; many loving grandchildren; sisters, Bettye (Charlie) Jones and Deborah Herron; brothers, Gregory L. White and Willie D. White; aunts and uncles, Willie Mae Golden, Delphia Estes, Classye Rogers, Elzata Gordon, Zella Mae Suggs, James (Annabelle) Kirkwood, J.C. Thompson and Baby Shane Estes; God-mother, Rebecca Black; special friends, Carolyn Alvarez and Calvin Buckley; and by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by many beloved aunts, uncles, and other dear relatives that were an important part of his life. Homegoing services will be celebrated in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 11:00 am with Larry’s nephew, Bishop Dr. Charles C. Jones, Sr. , D.D. officiating. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, cremation will follow the services and will be interred in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 am.
