Lillian F. Pogue

Aug 7, 1932 – Aug 2, 2007

Lillian F. Pogue, 74, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 2, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born in Owensboro, KY on August 7, 1932 the daughter of the late Fonzo and Mabel (nee: Miller) Traughber. On December 30, 1950, in Owensboro, she was united in marriage to William A. Pogue. Mrs. Pogue loved gardening, canning tomatoes, watching her bug zapper, playing poker and winning all the money, collecting collectables, having her feet rubbed and her back scratched. She was a very organized person especially when it came to her bills and her scrapbooks for the children and grandchildren. She would give anyone the shirt off her back, and once she started something she never rested until it was done. When she became ill she was upset because she couldn’t do what she was used to doing. After a long day she enjoyed sitting in her swing on the gazebo. Mrs. Pogue often said when her time comes she would like to be home with her family; she got her wish. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William; their children, Ronnie Pogue, Mary (John) Kristzonas Jr., and Noah Pogue; grandchildren, Jennifer (her fiancée, Christian Boedecker) Kristzonas, Melissa Kristzonas, John Kristzonas III, Jonathan Roushia; great granddaughter Annalysa Boedecker, all of Racine; brothers Claude Traughber of Racine, Robert Traughber and sister Dorothy Smith, both of Oakhill, OH; sister-in-law Darlene Traughber of Burlington, WI. Her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents, her son Leslie Pogue and daughter Molly Pogue, brothers Melvin Traughber Sr., Adolphus Traughber, Luther Traughber, sister Pearlie Dee Traughber and half-brother Johnnie Bratcher preceded her in death. Her Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday August 7th (which would have been her 75th Birthday), at 12:00 0’clock noon, with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
