Rocky Thomas Bettazza

Oct 13, 1974 – Sep 25, 2007

Racine- Rocky Thomas Bettazza, 32, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 as the result of a traffic accident in Dover, Wisconsin. Rocky was born in Chico, California on October 13, 1974. He graduated from Minico High School in Rupert, Idaho in 1993. Shortly after, he moved to Illinois where he resided until moving to Wisconsin 2 years ago. Among his places of employment, Rocky truly enjoyed driving a semi-tractor trailer for McLane Food Services since April 5, 2004. Kind and outgoing, Rocky’s forte was socializing and treasuring his many valued friends. Rocky liked playing softball, watching movies, listening to his favorite music, riding motorcycles and jetskis, just to name a few. Rocky also had a great appreciation for animals. He will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and infectious smile. Surviving are his mother, Sharon Bennett; brother, Shaun Bettazza; grandparents, Dick and Phyllis Bennett; uncle, Brian (Laura) Bennett; cousins, Jennifer and Kaytlin Bennett; and by many other special relatives, Tel (Granny) Warren and Earl Warren, co-workers and friends too numerous to mention by name. Memorial services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Roma Lodge, 7130 Spring Street. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kansasville Fire Department (23730 Durand Ave. Kansasville, WI 53139) in recognition of the volunteer members who risk their own lives in order to help others, just as they did for Rocky. Rocky’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the first responders that heroically tried to help on Tuesday morning. Also, to his wonderful co-workers at McLane Food Services, Rocky loved you all!!

To Sharon & Shaun, and all who loved Rocky dearly. May it help in some way to know that friends are sharing the sorrow in your hearts. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure to hold. I wish we knew what to say to make things better but sometimes words just aren’t enough. Wishing you the comfort of our thoughts and prayers.
