Edwin J. Anderson

Edwin J. Anderson, 82, left Christine’s World on Sunday, January 27, 2008. He was born in Hixton, WI on December 6, 1925, the son of Matt and Minda ( nee: Sagen ) Anderson. On September 11, 1984, in Morganfield, KY, he was united in marriage to the former Christine Kruck Heidtke. He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He had been employed by Wisconsin Natural Gas for over 33 years retiring on January 1, 1988. Mr. Anderson was a very active member of Pleasant Prairie United Methodist Church, serving as an usher and on various other committees. He was a Life-Member of V.F.W. Post 1391, a Life Member of the Cooties, the Last Survivors Club of Post 1391, the Senior Action Club of Kenosha, a 32nd Degree Mason of Masonic Belle City Lodge # 18 F and AM of Racine, the Scottish Rite Valley of Milwaukee, the Tripoli Shrine, and the Wisconsin Natural Gas Veterans Association. Mr. And Mrs. Anderson traveled extensively including all parts of the United States, Europe and Africa. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his devoted wife and best friend, Christine; his sons, John M. (Linda) Anderson of Racine, Paul David Anderson of Milwaukee; grandsons, Jonathan and Jacob Anderson; sisters Mayme Eide of Gilbert, AZ, Alma Maves of Menominee, WI, and Ruth Peters of Kenosha, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jane (Jerald) Ingersoll of Sullivan, WI, George O. (Betty) Kruck of Genoa, WI, and his pet turtle Stoney, he loved her and she loved him. His nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends, further survive him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Dorothy Wendt and brothers-in-law Kenneth Eide, William Maves, and Leslie Shouse. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joyce Rinehart officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section of Graceland Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to the Building Fund at Pleasant Prairie United Methodist Church, or the Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital in Lake Geneva. The family would like to publicly thank Dr. Timothy Hubbard and his staff, as well as the staff at Washington Manor for the care and compassion given Ed and his family.
