Marcella Marie Hansen

Mar 21, 1914 – Apr 7, 2008

Marcella M. Hansen, 94, passed away in the Savannah Cottages, in Savannah, GA, on Monday, April 7, 2008. She was born in Racine on March 21, 1914 the daughter of the George and Agnes (nee: Zenner) Horton. In Racine on September 1, 1934 she was united in marriage to Fred E. Hansen who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1984 . Mrs. Hansen was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. She moved to Savannah a short while ago to be near her family. Surviving are her sons Ron (Eva) Hansen of Roseboro, NC and John (Lynn) Hansen of Savannah, GA; three granddaughters Gretchen Hansen, Melissa Hansen and Lesley (Gustavo) Hansen-Farfan, 2 great grandchildren, Dustin Hansen and Hayley Hafemeister; Sisters Annella “ Nel” (Joe) Gedemer of Racine and Theresa “Terry” (Robert) Mesler of Gordonsville, VA; sister-in-law LaVerne Gedemer Horton of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son Roger Hansen and daughter Marilyn Hansen, brothers and sister-in-law Aloysius “Al” and Adelbert “Del” (Gwendolyn) Horton, and sisters, Lorraine and Leona Horton. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave.. Relatives and friends can meet with the family at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The family has suggested memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
