Henrietta "Hank" Christensen

Oct 4, 1927 – Apr 21, 2008

Racine- Henrietta “Hank” Marie (nee: Dupuis) Christensen, 80, passed away at the home of her daughter in Westerville, OH on Monday, April 21, 2008. Hank, a name she was affectionately called by all who knew her, was born in Mosinee, WI on October 4, 1927 to the late Henry and Evelyn (nee: Linder) Dupuis. A 1945 graduate of Mosinee High School, she has lived in Racine for most of her adult life. On May 2, 1953, she united in marriage Myron “Mike” L. Christensen. Hank was employed by Walker Forge, Young Radiator and by Racine Unified School District, serving most of her career at SC Johnson Elementary and JI Case High School where she loved taking care of “her” kids. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among her interests, she enjoyed playing games with her family, especially Rummikub with her grandchildren, inventing M&M Royal Rummy and was the “Greatest Hearts Player”. Hank was a phenomenal cook, avid geranium gardener, devoted Milwaukee Braves and Green Bay Packers fan and cherished the times spent at the family cottage on Pier Lake. Above all, she loved taking care of her family and placed all of them as priority one in life. Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 55 years, Myron “Mike”, of Racine; their children, Ann (Steve) Bultema of Westerville, OH; Tom (Karen) Christensen of New Glarus; and John (Michelle) Christensen of St. Michael, MN; grandchildren, Patrick (fiancé, Kristy Fultz), Caitlin and Alex Bultema; Mackenzie “Mac”, Jacob and Charles Christensen; sister, Jean (Al) Bouck; sister-in-law, Lillian Dupuis; brother-in-law, Gordon “Corky” (Janice) Christensen; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents, Hank was preceded in death by her brothers, Leon (Pearl) and Donald Dupuis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28, 2008 in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7 pm and in the church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am. In memory of Hank, memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund of Belleville, WI has been suggested. A special note of thanks to Young Choi, MD and staff for the compassionate care and guidance during Hank’s bout with cancer. Your kindness will always be remembered.
