Daniel Christ Christensen

vet
Jul 19, 1950 – Sep 20, 2009

Sturtevant – Daniel Christ Christensen, 59, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center after suffering a stroke last week.

A lifetime resident, Dan was born in Racine on July 19, 1950 to the late Wilfred “Bunny” and Betty (nee: Storbeck) Christensen. He graduated from JI Case High School in 1969. At age 30, he enlisted to serve his Country with the United States Army as a communications specialist. On March 24, 1984, he was united in marriage with Mari Susan (nee: Christman).

Along with Mari, he owned and operated J.Q. Foxes in Sturtevant for the past 23 years – where they established countless lifelong friendships. Dan had a great passion for helping others, especially by organizing benefit gatherings which has raised thousands of dollars for numerous local charities and for people in need. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, ABATE of Wisconsin (fighting for motorcyclists rights), Old Timers Athletic Club, and proudly supported local Veteran organizations. Dan was extremely artistic, enjoyed touring the open roads on his Harley, and will be fondly remembered for his witty sense of humor. Above all, he loved people and was happiest when in the midst of his entire family and extensive circle of friends.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 25 years, Mari; children, Claresa Christensen, Christ Christensen, Warren Dahlke and Ty (Cara) Christensen; grandchildren, Andrew, Garret, Nathan, Lauren, Aaron, Sean, Alyssa, Anastasia, Christa, Andrea and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his eleventh; sisters and brothers, Anna (Daniel) Larsen, Pamela (Rick) Franke, Timothy Christensen, Denise (Scott) Rude, Laura (Mike) Hayne, Sally (Rodney) Holmdahl, William (Karen) Christensen, Carl (Eileen) Christensen and Richard (Faye) Christensen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Arnie) Christiansen, Robert (Susan) Christman, Bill (Kitty) Christman, Daniel (Julie) Christman, Thomas Christman and Sheila Christman; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and extended family from the bar-too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Wilfred “Bunny” and Betty; Dan was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Linda Patterson.

Funeral services, with military honors, will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 12 – 3 pm. A motorcycle procession to the funeral home will take place on Sunday – all bikes should meet at JQ Foxes by 11:30 am. Memorials to the “Dan Christensen Memorial Fund” has been suggested – for distribution to Dan’s favorite charities. A special note of thanks to Sturtevant Police & South Shore Rescue, Wheaton Franciscan Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit, especially Dan’s caring angel- Jenny RN, for doing everything in their powers in trying to save Dan’s life. Your kindness and compassionate support will always be remembered.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. Our friendship formed by assisting Dan with his own charitable poker runs, the Tri-County Rider Toy Run in the fall and our own spring poker run. We have many warm and fun memories of Dan. He will be with you in spirit and in heart forever. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Testimonials

December 1, 2023

My siblings and I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to plan a funeral for our beloved mother – Juana Munoz. During this difficult time, we were fortunate enough to come across a funeral home that truly went above and beyond what was expected. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our comfort and safety throughout the entire process was truly remarkable. From the moment we stepped foot into the funeral home, we were greeted with warmth and compassion. The staff members, but specifically Mark was incredibly understanding and empathetic, making us feel at ease during such a challenging time. Mark took the time to listen to our needs and wishes, and his guidance and support were invaluable. One aspect that truly stood out was Mark’s meticulous attention to detail. He paid close attention to every aspect of the funeral arrangements, ensuring that nothing was overlooked. From the floral arrangements to the music selection, every detail was carefully considered and executed flawlessly. Mark even noticed that the temperature in the room was getting warm and promptly adjusted it to ensure our comfort. What impressed me the most was their commitment to our safety. Mark and his team took every precaution to ensure that our family and guests were protected throughout the entire process. From the funeral home to the cemetery, Mark made sure that all safety measures were in place, including providing hand sanitizers, and even arranging for additional staff members to assist with crowd control. Furthermore, Mark’s professionalism and organization was evident in every aspect of the funeral service. He coordinated seamlessly with the cemetery staff, ensuring a smooth transition from the funeral home to the final resting place. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly made a difference in our overall experience. In addition to their exceptional service, the funeral home also provided us with resources and support beyond the funeral itself. They offered grief counseling services and connected us with local support groups, which proved to be invaluable during our grieving process. Overall, we cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Mark, and broader, Draeger Langendorf team. Their attention to detail, commitment to our safety, and genuine compassion made a difficult time a little more bearable. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of funeral arrangements, as they truly go above and beyond to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that families are supported throughout . the entire process. – Epifanio and The Munoz Family
