Richard Kenneth "Jaws" Hammill

Kenosha – Richard K. “Jaws” Hammill, 73, formerly of Sturtevant, passed away at HRC Manor Care on Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was born in Racine on December 22, 1935, the son of Robert and Lucille (nee: Anderson) Hammill. After graduating from Washington Park High School he enlisted in the US Army, and served in Germany. He was married on October 30, 1965 to Margaret Ann Bain at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. Dick retired from Young Radiator, where he had worked as a machine operator. Dick also served as a dedicated volunteer Fire Fighter with the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department. Following his retirement, he and Marge relocated to New Lisbon, where he enjoyed being in the woods hunting and fishing. Dick also enjoyed watching NASCAR and Monster Truck races, football, and had a keen interest in trains. He is survived by his wife, Marge Hammill; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Stacey Hammill; 3 grandchildren, Kai, Devyn, and Caleb Hammill, all of Kenosha; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Judy Jensen of Waterford; as well other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his step-father, Harold “Hoppy” Jensen; and his sister and best friend, Ginger Jensen. Family and friends are invited to visit with Dick’s family in the funeral home on Monday, November 23, 2009 from 5 – 8 p.m. A private service and interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
