David Carl Solberg

vet
Oct 21, 1944 – Dec 27, 2009

Racine – David C. Solberg, 65, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 27, 2009. David was born in Whitehall, WI on October 21, 1944 to the late Carl and Mildred (nee: Engen) Solberg. After receiving his education from Washington Park High School, Dave faithfully served our Country with the United States Army in Vietnam. Dave enjoyed driving his semi tractor trailer with Tandem Trucking for many years. He also found great pleasure in serving his friends and customers as a bartender at The Corner House. Dave was a member of the Teamsters and was an avid sports fan – especially of football and NASCAR. Above all, he was tremendously proud of his entire family and loved being in their surroundings. Surviving are his sons, Matt (Larisa) Solberg , of whom Dave affectionately called “Champ”, Cheyenne, WY; and Morgan Solberg, of whom Dave affectionately called “Dusty”, Racine; adored granddaughter, Madyson “Mojo” Solberg; brother, Ron (Linda) Solberg of Sturtevant; sister, Sheri (Bill) Switzer of Kenosha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating Dave’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Barrows officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2 pm. Private interment, with military honors, will take place in the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In memory of Dave, memorials to the Vietnam Veterans of America – Chapter 767 has been suggested. A special note of thanks to the entire staff of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee for the compassionate care and support in Dad’s time of need.

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
