John Michael Korntved

Racine – John Michael Korntved, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 26, 2010. 

He was born in Sturgeon Bay on June 20, 1944, the son of the late Jess and Elda (nee: Beuchner) Korntved.  On July 23, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Caledonia, he was united in marriage to the former Ethel Peterson.

John graduated from Racine Lutheran High School.  He served his country with the United States Navy.  John was employed by Teledyne Wisconsin Motors for over 28 years.  He was also employed by the Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction and Promotions Unlimited and retired in 2007.  He was a member and Union Steward of the UAW Local #283.  His hobbies included building and running HO model trains and collecting lighthouses.  Next to his wife and children, John cherished his Shiba Inu dog, Diva.

Surviving are his wife Ethel; children, Michael ‘Mike” Korntved of Menasha and Tracee (Dennis) Olsen of Sturtevant; two grandsons, Derek and Brian Olsen; three sisters, Mary Korntved, Barbara Korntved, both of Milwaukee, and Linda (Kevin) Ziebell of Delafield; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The visitation is from 2 until 4 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, with the funeral following at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2917 Olive Street, with Rev. Michael Zarling officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the Redecorating Fund at Epiphany Lutheran Church or to the family.
