John Czarnecki, Jr.

vet
Jan 11, 1929 – Oct 28, 2010

Racine— John Czarnecki, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 28, 2010, with his family by his side.

A lifetime resident, John was born in Racine on January 11, 1929 to the late John and Antonine (nee: Narolecki) Czarnecki, Sr. He faithfully served our Country with the United States Army in the Korean War.

On May 29, 1954 in St. Edward Catholic Church, John was united in marriage with the love of his life, JoAnne (nee: Joskoff) Czarnecki, who preceded him in death on February 26, 2003.

John had a great work ethic and often worked two jobs to support his family.  He had worked as a janitor, painter, and he retired after 37 years as an electronics assembler with the Eaton Corporation in Kenosha. With a profound Catholic faith, he was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church. John enjoyed flying model aircraft with his Racine Radio Control Club. Fishing, bowling and trying his luck at Bingo were a few of his interests. Above all, he loved and cherished being in the surroundings of his family.

Surviving are his children, Andrea (Tim) Bertram of Racine, David (Valarie) Czarnecki of Franksville; Chris (Barry) Henkel, Diane Czarnecki, Thomas Czarnecki, all of Racine; and Karen (David) Brickler of Sturtevant; grandchildren, Amy (Jake) Browarski, Alyssa (Bryan) Taulbee, Andrew Bertram, Jessica (Kenneth) Gregory, Rebecca (Kirk) Mayer; Leslie and Jonathan (Nicole) Trobaugh; Emily Henkel; Kayla, Kyle and Kraig Brickler; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Robert) Haines of Brooksville, FL and Irene Lambrecht of Burnsville, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; brother-in-law, Heinz Lambrecht; and infant sister-in-law, Nina Joskoff.

In accordance with John’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment, with military honors, followed in Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery – Union Grove.
