Mack Williams

vet
Apr 12, 1924 – Feb 9, 2011

Racine – Mack Williams, 86, passed away at WFH All Saints hospital on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. He was born in Waukeenah, Florida on April 12, 1924, son of the late Caesar and Eva (nee: Garmon) Williams. Mack served honorably in the US Army during WWII from 1943-1945.

Mack Williams accepted Christ at an early age and served as a faithful member of Gregg Chapel C.M.E Church until his passing. In 1951 Mack moved from Florida to Racine. In 1953 he began his 30 year career with AMC/Chrysler, retiring in 1983. Mack had a unique sense of style and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was kind and generous to those in need, and provided financial support to many individuals and organizations. Although he never had children, he was blessed with many nieces and nephews that were very dear to him. Mack will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Rev. Ralph W. (Mary) Williams of Racine; sister, Hattie Lewis of Miami, Florida; sisters-in-law, Pauline Williams of Tallahassee, Florida and Corinne Williams of Racine; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Williams, Christopher (Maggie) Williams, Bill (Lucinda) Williams, Walter Williams, George Williams, Caesar Williams, Jr., and his sister, Cornelius (Frank) Barrington.

Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Gregg Chapel CME Church (2237 Howe Street) with Rev. David Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Park. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7pm, and at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Gregg Chapel CME Church.

Testimonials

Sincere Gratitude

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
