Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barry family. We hope you will find comfort in Jesus’ words at John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” May God’s peace strengthen you at this time.

As always you are in my thoughts and prayers. It’s hard getting my mind around him getting sick and is no longer around to bump into every now and again. I keep remembering when we were kids growing up and promising that we are going to be different and stay close. Where did the time go. I thought we had more time. Missing you already.

    Your Cuz, Eyddie

My sincerest sympathy go out to Horace’s family. I was a classmate of Horace and his sister, Eunice, graduating in 1975 with them. I genuinely hope he was not suffering physically for a long time. May God pour out His comfort on all his family, now and into the future.

    With deepest sympathy,
    Mrs. Geri (Standiford) Mainland

The block just won’t be the same without Horace’s daily quips, amusements, and words of experiences he has passed on to us on the ‘stoop’. He will surely be missed by all of us on College Avenue. My heartfelt condolences to the surviving family.

    To the Barry family,

I have known Horace practically all my life, I am truly saddened by this news, although I knew the last time I saw him would be the last time I saw him, it’s still hard to digest. He will be missed.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to the family at your time of sorrow. May the good times and pleasant memories bring you all comfort.

I met Horace only once, when my boyfriend (now husband) Ronnie Hicks brought me to Racine in 2007 and we stopped by to say hello to his parents. Horace came out the side door to greet us, beaming a great smile that I will always remember.

I wish Miss Lillie, Mr John and all of Horace’s brothers and sisters that I’ve never met but have heard about from Ronnie only the best, now and always.
