Terrace on Monday, April 27, 2009. Jennie was born in Zion, IL on August 14, 1921 to the late Anthony and Jennie (nee: Sturino) Pontillo. She grew up in Kenosha before moving to Racine in 1946. Jennie was employed for over 36 years at Western Publishing, retiring in 1983. Catholic by faith, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and, more recently, at St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among her interests, she was an avid gardener – raising vegetables from seeds passed on year after year from her father’s garden; enjoyed crocheting and baking; was a member of the seniors walking club at the Regency Mall for many years; and an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She would often say, “Don’t call me if the Packers lose”. Surviving are her sons, Vaughn (Beth) Paragamian of Cour d’Alene, Idaho and David Gibson of Canton, MI; grandchildren, Laura, Jon, Karin and Nathaniel; brother-in-law, Frank Beltrano; sisters-in-law, Ennis Pontillo, Violet Pontillo and Pam Pontillo; nieces, and nephews. Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William D. Gibson, on April 11, 1984; daughters-in-law, Lynne and Annie Gibson; grandson, Adrick Gibson; brothers, Cy, Frank, Louis, Ralph, Robert “Bobby” and Tony Pontillo; sisters, Mary Brandt and Theresa Beltrano; and sisters-in-law, Edith Pontillo, Michelle “Mickey” Pontillo and Merle Pontillo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:30 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery – Kenosha. Visitation will be in St. Lucy Church on Friday, May 8th, from 9:30 – 11:30 am. In memory of Jennie, memorials to The Arc, for the benefit of mentally challenged children, or to St. Lucy Church has been suggested.
