Helen Margaret Prochacka

May 31, 1921 – May 19, 2009

Racine – Helen Margaret (nee: Secanky) Prochacka, 87, passed away at 1:20 am on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Helen was born in Racine on May 31, 1921 to the late Albert and Josephine (nee: Gasparec) Secanky. She graduated from Park High School in 1939. On November 27, 1943 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with John G. Prochacka, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2004. Her top priority in life was being a full-time mother and homemaker. With a profound faith in God, Helen was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among her interests, she enjoyed cooking, spending time in Door County, tending to her feline friends and, of course, praying her Rosary. Above all, she cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her son, John M. (Donna) Prochacka of Burlington; daughter, Nancy Suokko of Moab, Utah; grandsons, Zach Prochacka of Milwaukee and Abe Prochacka of Long Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Lorraine Secanky of Racine; brother-in-law, Michael (Gloria) Prochaska of Racine; special niece and nephew, Mary Lee and Barry Anderson of Racine; other dear relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, John Secanky; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Prochacka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am. In memory of Helen, memorials to the Countryside Humane Society has been suggested. A special note of thanks to Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints ICU, especially Dawn RN, for the compassionate care and comforting support in our time of need.

My thoughts are with you, Nancy, at this most difficult of times. You mother and father were always very kind to me during our college days.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
