Geraldine Tekla Beck

Mar 19, 1924 – Nov 1, 2009

Sturtevant – Geraldine T. Beck, 85, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital on Sunday, November 1, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Racine on March 19, 1924, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (nee: Garbarek) Baumstark. Gerry graduated from St. Catherine’s High School. On June 2, 1943 she was married to George Beck.

Gerry was always smiling and always put others before herself. She was devoted to her entire family, and her family was her greatest joy in life. Gerry worked in several local bakeries for many years, and was working at Larsen Bakery when she retired. In her free time, Gerry loved to do crossword puzzles and loved to try her “lady luck” on the slots. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Gerry was deeply loved by all of her family and will be sadly missed.

Gerry is survived by her husband, George; their daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Roger Klinkhammer of Mt. Pleasant, Donna and Maynard Frydach of Sturtevant; grandchildren, Kurt (Pattie) Klinkhammer, Kevin (Dawn) Klinkhammer, Renee Beck; great-grandchildren, Krystal, Kayla, Kristen, Nicole, and Shawon; sisters-in-law, LouAnn Baumstark, Gloria Konicek, and Grace Beck. She was also preceded by her brothers, Robert (Jackie) Baumstark and Thomas Baumstark; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Sophie Beck; brothers-in-law, Emil Beck and Jerome Konicek; and sister-in-law, Edna (Arthur) Petersen. She is also further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2009 with Pastor David Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. All are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home beginning at 12:30 pm.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and staff of Lincoln Village, Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital 2D, Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, Oncology Alliance, and Aurora for their compassionate care given to Gerry and her family during her illness.
