Dante Dwain Jackson

Jul 28, 1977 – Jun 21, 2011

Dante’ Dwain Jackson, age 33, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.  He was born on July 28, 1977, in Racine, WI, to Johnny and Minnie Jackson.

At an early age, Dante’ united with and was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church.  He served faithfully on the Youth Usher Board under the guidance of Sister Annie Freeman.  Dante’ was educated in the Racine Unified School Systems.  He began his employment with Thermal Transfer Products in 1997 and worked until April 2011, until his health began to fail him.

He loved his job and was loved by all who knew and worked with him.  Dante’ enjoyed spending time with his family.  He loved to cook and was excellent at it. He loved barbecuing for friends and his family.  He also loved gospel and “old school” music.  Dante’ was an expert with electronics.  He had a hobby of taking things apart and putting them back together.   Dante’ was a man of strong faith and courage.  Even through his illness he was always positive and thinking of others, particularly his mother Minnie; sister Brandi and step-brother Keontay.

Dante’ loved his family and will be missed by all.  He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Minnie Jackson; his father, Johnny (Lynda) Jackson, all of Racine, WI; his sister, Brandi N. Jackson, Dallas, TX; step-brothers, Keontay (Natalia) Jackson and Brian Jackson, both of Racine, WI; step-sister, Nicole Jackson of CA; grandmother, Audrey Cook, Taylor, MS; goddaughter, Sanaiah Davis of Racine, WI, and his pa-Pa, Sammie Harris, of Bastrop, LA.

He is further survived by a host of Uncles, Aunts and other relatives and friends; special friends, Chastity Johnson and LaToya Smith, both of Houston, TX; Roy Butler, Micaiah Butler and George Nicks, all of Racine, WI.  Dante’ is preceded in death by his grandparents Lee Aubrey (Mildred) Jackson; his grandfather, Rodell Cook.

His Homegoing service will be celebrated at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1123 Center, on Monday, June 27th, at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, June 26th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a service remembering Dante’s life being held at 6:30 p.m. There will be a visitation in the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.

“A special thank you to his doctors, Dr. Manne and Dr. Mullane; Dr. Kraklaw and the staff at MidWest Dialysis; and All Saints Hospice Alliance for the wonderful care given to him during his time of illness.  Special thank you to CNH Treasury and AFC Accounting Departments and the St. Paul Church Family for their acts of kindness.”
