Racine – Jean Mae Anderson, 90, received the promise of eternal life on Sunday, October 14, 2012. She was born in Racine on March 25, 1922, daughter of the late Harley and Juliette (nee: Lattish) Wilear.
Jean graduated from Horlick High School in 1940. On December 27, 1941, she was married to the love of her life, Robert S. Anderson, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Racine. Jean worked for both Hamilton Beach and JC Penney before she retired. Over the years, Bob and Jean have been members of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Messiah Lutheran Church, and have attended Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. She was truly a strong matriarch and doted on her children and grandchildren. She had an infectious personality and her humor would light up a room. She took on the position of the unofficial welcoming committee for all new residents of Fountain Hills. Above all, she loved being with Bob. Where ever you found one, the other would be close by. Jean will be dearly missed by her entire family and her many friends.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 70 years, Robert Anderson of Racine; daughters, Peggy (Dennis) Michel, Vicky (John) Krenzke, all of Racine; grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Kordus, Jennifer (Tim) Alton, all of Racine, Amy (James Gibson) Krenzke of Chicago, IL, John R. (Alexis Urda) Krenzke of Evanston, IL; great-grandchildren, Cody Kordus, Ashley Kordus, Meghan Alton, Connor Alton; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerome (Pearl) Wilear, and Wayne (Dorothy) Wilear.
Memorial services will be private. Per Jean’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family has suggested memorials to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, the American Heart Association, or the Wisconsin Council for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the WFH – All Saints ICU for the care that they gave to Jean. Also, thank you to Dr. Zablotney and Dr. Tierney for the care that they have given to Bob and Jean over the years.
