
Mrs. Ella J. Robinson, 90, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
She was born in Natchez, MS on October 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Henry and Fanny (nee: Davis) Hall. She attended St. Peter Baptist Church and graduated from St. Francis High School in Mississippi. On February 5, 1946 she married Jim B. Robinson and they moved to Racine shortly after the wedding. Mr. Robinson preceded her in death on September 9, 1986.
Mrs. Robinson was a professional hair dresser and worked for numerous beauty shops. She last worked for Rosie Wiggins Beauty Salon.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Robinson was a faithful, longtime member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Badger Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Matron.
She was a loving, caring woman who enjoyed going to church, hair dressing and sewing for those she loved and being in the presence of her family.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her dear nieces and nephews, JoElla Walker, Ilinda Stewart, William Harden, Sr., Michael Harden, Royce Harden; many great nieces and great nephews; as well as other extended family members; especially, Rodelia “Rode” Easley. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Robinson was also preceded in death by her brothers, Oscar (Frances) Harden, Sr., William (Stella) Harden; her nieces, Rosemary Mitchell, Francine Harden, Barbara (Lee) Buggs and Ilona Harden and nephew, Oscar (Rita) Harden, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of Mrs. Robinson’s life and Homegoing with Bishop L.L. Kirby officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Her interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery following the service at church.
