
WINTER GARDEN, FL (Formerly of Racine) – Mrs. Lois M. Kohel, 89, passed away at Health Central Hospital on Saturday, October 18, 2014.
She was born in Merrill, WI on September 20, 1925, the daughter of Ernest and Emma (nee: Gregory) Vachon. She graduated from Park High in 1943. On May 31, 1947 she married Donald J. Kohel at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1992.
Mrs. Kohel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that treasured her time spent with her family. She also was devoted to her Catholic faith and the Blessed Mother.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Ken) Gross of Racine, Mary Beth (Steve) Seitz of Winter Garden, FL, Robert (Cindy) Kohel of Racine, William Kohel of Athens, GA, James (Denise) Kohel of Racine; her 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Lester (Jeannette) Kohel of Racine; as well as many dear loving nieces, nephews and her broken hearted dog and best friend, Mopsy. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Grabher and by her 5 siblings.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.) on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. for the celebration of her life and funeral Mass with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Friday from 10-11:30 am. Her interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery following the Mass.
