Racine- Robert S. Stone, age 71, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in his sleep on Monday, November 3, 2014.
A graduate of Washington Park High School, Bob was born in Racine on September 30, 1943 to the late Hubert and Margaret (nee: Smith) Stone. On June 17, 1967 in St. Casimir Catholic Church – Kenosha, Bob was united in marriage with the love of his life, Lillian H. (nee: Luzar) Stone.
Bob was employed by Walker Manufacturing until taking a job as a Senior Tool & Die Supervisor at Eaton Dynamatic in Kenosha. At age 45, his position at Eaton was eliminated….allowing Bob to pursue his full-time passion of fishing. Bob owned & operated “Bobbin’ Lill” fishing charters, something he looked at as a hobby rather than a job.
A man of great faith and integrity, Bob was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Outside of fishing, Bob enjoyed working in his yard and wintering with Lill in sunny Florida. He truly enjoyed his companionship with faithful dog, Molly. However, Bob’s number one priority in life was his family – he cherished every second he spent with all of his loved ones.
Surviving are his loving wife of over 47 years, Lill; their sons, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Stone and Brian (Laura) Stone; grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Stone; Emily and Ashley Stone; precious great-grandson, Morrison; brothers, John (Joan) Stone and Rick (Diane) Stone; sister, Pam (Farooq) Lakhani; sister-in-law, Judy Stone; brothers-in-law, Jim (Sherry) Luzar, Norman (Karen) Luzar, Daniel (Ellen) Luzar and David (Rose) Luzar; nieces, nephews, other relatives, fishing buddies and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Stone; and by Lill’s parents, Joseph and Helen (nee: Kamieniecki) Luzar.
A Service of Life Celebration will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. In accordance with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In memory of Bob, do something nice for someone in need – including taking a child fishing!
