Racine- Evangelina (nee: Vivian) Morones, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
Eva was born in Saltillo, Mexico on March 31, 1932 to the late Carlos Vivian and Diamantina Gonzalez. Shortly after moving to Racine, Evangelina was united in marriage with the love of her life, Vicente L. Morones at St. Rita Catholic Church on December 16, 1950. Always wanting to help others, Eva enjoyed serving as a nursing assistant at St. Mary’s Medical Center. With a tireless work ethic, Eva and Vicente proudly owned and operated the Morones family restaurants “La Villta Del Norte” and “La Villta Del Solo” for over 25 years. True to her Hispanic hertitage, Eva was a lifetime member of LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) where she and Vicente travelled nationwide to open new charters. During this time, Eva was fortunate enough to meet Cesar Chavez at the Spanish Center in Racine. Among her interests, Eva enjoyed solving puzzles (many of which were framed by her family), playing Bingo, and gambling at Potawatomi. Above all, Eva loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family.
