Lloyd Ellsworth Olson

Dec 3, 1937 – Aug 19, 2016

Racine – Lloyd Ellsworth Olson, age 78, of Racine, Wisconsin joined his Lord in Heaven on the afternoon of August 19, 2016.

Lloyd was born in Racine on December 3, 1937 to Ellsworth and Clara Olson (Jennings). He met his wife, Marion Kjell, in his church’s youth group. They were married on August 6, 1960, following Lloyd’s graduation from the University of Wisconsin.

Upon achieving his BSEE, Lloyd pursued a lifelong career in electrical engineering. In December of 1960, Lloyd was drafted into the army and joined the National Guard. Following this service, Lloyd became the proud father of three children and eventually co-founded Unico®, a Racine-based electronical engineering company which remains in business to this day. An Eagle Scout himself, He served 20 years as a Boy Scout master. From 1973, Lloyd spent the remainder of his life passionately living for the Lord Jesus Christ in multiple ways including: dedicated service to his church, compassionate outreach to the local community, and global mission trips. He was a member of Racine Assembly of God church for 37 years.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marion Olson, his three children, Raymond (Beth) Olson, Steven Olson, and Susan (Trace) Chiodo, as well as nine grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Debi (Kyle), Phillip, Luke, Rebecca, Julia, Olivia and Sophia and one great-grandchild, Violet. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Olson and his sister, Joy Johnson. Lloyd was a wise, loving father and grandfather and an amazing man of God. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at Racine Assembly of God, 1325 Airline Road, on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Ed Walker officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Private interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.

A special note of thanks to Dr. Syed Haider and the entire staff of the Aurora – Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Kenosha for the compassionate care and support given during the past 8 months. May God bless all of you!

    Cousin Marion & family,

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Cousin Lloyd was an incredible, endearing man. My mom (Ellen [Dick] Mandernack) always spoke so highly of Lloyd, and all of you. I know you hurt and we hurt for you. We love you and know that Lloyd is always with you, watching from above with Him and with those who passed before him. His life will always be celebrated. God Bless You All!

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
