Service Details

Earl’s funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, 6:30pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until the time of the service. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday. Racine – Earl Norman Seyferth, age 77, passed away on Aug 22, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Racine, WI, on May 10, 1939, to Roland and Gladys Seyferth (Koebke).

On June 11, 1960, he married the love of his life, Susan Hinrichs. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, he served as an usher, Sunday School Superintendent and church Scoutmaster. He was involved in scouting for over 50 years and was a Scoutmaster to many. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and various outdoor activities. He enjoyed playing card games, cribbage, and Sudoku. His dislike of onions, garlic, and other spicy food was well known. He retired from the post office after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Sandra Harper, Julie (Mark) Steiner, David Seyferth, Sheri (Rodney) Payne; his brother Carl (Jackie) Seyferth; nephew, Kevin (Lynda) Seyferth; niece, Rebecca (Steve) Pieniak; his nine grandchildren, Crystal, William, Amanda, Laura, Justin, Timothy, Douglas, Benjamin, Jeremy; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold.

Earl’s funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, 6:30pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.     I wish I could be there for yall right now. Grandpa Earl was always nice to me, and I remember many happy memories with him. I know that this is extremely hard on everyone there. I hope that everyone finds peace in your memories with Earl.
    I always remember a funeral I every went to in which the priest said “We are not here to mourn in the loss, but, to instead, celebrate the life that was lived”
