MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Ruth Kelbach, 100, passed away at New Visions of Life Adult Family Home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

Ruth was born in Racine on April 2, 1916, the daughter of Lester and Louise (nee: Kriz) Kopitzke.  She graduated from Horlick High School.  On April 5, 1946 she married Wilbert Kelbach.  He preceded her in death on June 20, 1972.

Ruth was a proud homemaker for her family.  After her husband passed away she worked for Montgomery Ward and later as a crossing guard.  She was a longtime, faithful member of Holy Communion Church and enjoyed her quiet time crocheting and being in the company of her family.

She is survived by her sons and daughter, Walter Kelbach of Utah, Gail Dvorak of Franksville, Richard (Ellen) Kelbach of Racine, Les (Janet) Kelbach of Neshkoro, WI; grandchildren, Deanna (Rodney) LaCroix, Thomas (Alexis) Kelbach; great grandchildren, Alyssa LaCroix, Nicholas Exner; as well as extended family, Dennis (Linda) Schliepp and Shawn Schliepp.  In addition to her husband, Wilbert, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dean Dvorak and grandson, John Dvorak.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, September 19, 2016 for a visitation to meet with the family from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.   A service remembering and honoring her life will follow at 7:30 p.m.     A private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.

Ruth’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to New Visions of Life and Grace Hospice for the loving attention she received while under their care.
