Union Grove – Fred Helmut Buehmann, 93, passed away at Oak Ridge Care Center on Thursday, September 29, 2016. He was born in Dortmund, Germany on October 1, 1922, son of Traugott and Johanna Buehmann. Fred served in the Calvary with the German Army in WWII; He was married in Germany on December 10, 1947 to Ursula Orligk. In 1953 they moved to Sheboygan, and then lived in Milwaukee for two years before settling in Racine in 1956. Fred retired in 1980 from Westinghouse where he worked repairing elevators for 36 years. He was proud of his German heritage and spent many hours with his friends at the German Singing Society- Wisconsin Sangerbezirk. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Racine.
Fred is survived by his dear wife Ursula; his children Norbert (Mary) Buehmann of Brighton, Michigan, Bea (Joe) Rasmussen, Lily (Teddy) Ramos, and Michael (Cindy) Buehmann all of Racine. He was the much-loved “Opa” to his grandchildren Erik (Emily) Buehmann of Oakland, CA, Melissa (Joe) Rodriguez, Michael (Stacie) Ramos both of Racine, Christopher Buehmann of Brighton, MI, Courtnee Buehmann and Nicole Buehmann both of Racine; great-grandchildren, Alex Trentadue, Joe Rodriguez, Jillian Ramos, Mateo Rodriguez, Abraham Rodriguez, Theodore Ramos all of Racine, and Benjamin Buehmann of Oakland, CA. He is also survived by relatives in Germany.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 with Pastor Carey Wynn officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Cemetery services will be private.
The entire Buehmann family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oak Ridge Care Center for the kind and loving care they have provided to Fred, Ursula, and our whole family.

Helmut was a wonderful person and singer.
My husband sings with the Milwaukee Liederkranz for 60 years and I sing
with the Milwaukee Damenchor since our beginning in 1989, I am also the
Vice president and received the 2016 “Helmut Buehmann” Award, which was
a special honor, I am also the treasurer of the Wisconsin Saengerbezirk.
We will keep you and Helmut in our thoughts and prayers.
