Racine – Betty Mae (nee: Frederiksen) Tatman, age 91, passed away peacefully at Becker-Shoop Center on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

Betty was born in Racine on July 8, 1925 to the late Gustave and Anna Frederiksen. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School. On October 10, 1950 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with Dennis P. Tatman.

Betty had been employed by Wisconsin Electric and by the City of Racine – Park and Recreation Dept. She was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church, now known as Living Faith Lutheran Church. Some of her interests included dancing, Brewers, watching city league softball games, walking, her card club friends and being part of the Park High Reunion committee.

Surviving are her son, William Tatman; daughters, Maureen (Don) Rajsich, Rhonda (Ron) Rhodes and Lauri Powell; grandchildren, Amanda (Roy) Maybank, Katie Rajsich, Joel Powell, Chris (Jonni) Powell, Michelle (Brad) Bahler and Pete (Stephanie) Missureli; 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Delores Tatman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Lisa Marie Tatman; son-in-law, Ron Powell; brother, George Frederiksen; sister, Jane Rasmussen; and brother-in-law, Carl Tatman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 12:00 noon in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, December 29th from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon. Private interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army, Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

A special note of thanks to Bay Pointe Assisted Living, Becker-Shoop Center and to Marquardt Hospice for the compassionate care and support given in Betty’s time of need.

    Aunt Betty was a corner stone of our family. When I think of my childhood and all the family events, Aunt Betty is always a happy part of those times. I can only dream of dancing as well as her and Uncle Dennis! She will be missed by many.
