RACINE – Andrzej Kumosz, 66, passed away at Froedtert Hospital on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

He was born in Nowa Wieś, Poland on November 30, 1950, the son of Franciszek and Ewa (nee: Jacubowicz) Kumosz.  He immigrated to Racine in 1965 and graduated from William Horlick High School, Class of ’69.  On June 14, 1975, he married Jean Rudat.

Andy was a tool and die maker by trade, and owned and operated Z & Z Machine Products with his brother Frank for over 30 years.  Three years ago, Andy retired and enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood, greeting everyone he passed.

He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him and will be remembered for his desire to help others.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his mother, Ewa Kumosz of Racine; his brother, Frank (Krystyna) Kumosz of Racine; his sisters, Janina Warowy, Zofia (Janusz) Wagiel both of Poland, Danuta (Jozef) Tokicz of Racine; as well as dear nieces, nephews, close friends and co-workers.  He was preceded in death by his father, Franciszek Kumosz.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 for a visitation from 4-6 p.m.  A service remembering and honoring his life will follow at 6:00 p.m. with John Fleming officiating.  A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to All Saints Foundation for the Addiction Services Program.

The Kumosz family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Galbis-Reig and his staff at Ascension All Saints for the professional and loving attention Andy received while under their care.

It is with a heavy heart that we extend our condolences to Jean and the Kumosz family. We have lost a kind, generous, charismatic special friend. Andy, you could light up any room you walked into, you had that special kind of charm. Until we meet again, may The Lord hold you in the palm of his hand. Sincerely, Tina, Alex, Laura and Julie

To the family and friends of Andy, He will always be remembered for his fun-filled high school days. He kept so many of us laughing. It was also great when he started playing soccer with Rudy’s team in an adult over 40 league. He was so talented. May Andy rest in peace. He was way to young to go. Prayers are with you.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
