Willie Dion Smith was born on March 30, 1973 to Willie C. Smith and Anita Hardin in Racine Wisconsin.  Willie was a 1991 graduate of William Horlick High School.  He continued studies at the University of Minnesota Morris and Lakeland University.  Willie accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at age 27 and was united with Faith Christian Fellowship where he served as an Elder.  Willie was united in holy matrimony with Denise Wilson on October 11, 2003 in Racine Wisconsin.  Each of them bringing a daughter to the union, Mikaela Determan and Shaniece West.  He was last employed with Coca Cola Company as a Supervisor.

Willie was passionate about everything he did; preaching, serving as an Elder, loving his wife, supervising, working the sound system at church, chastising his nieces and nephews, making up names like chocolicious apostlelicious bishop pastor lady, even making his plate so that his food did not touch.  In his leisure he enjoyed going to the movies with his wife, reading his bible, eating, watching football with his Dad, going to lunch with his cousin Maine, talking to his Mom, spending time with his family and watching Bernie Mac.  He was a proud member of Omega Psi Phi.

Willie Dion Smith departed this life on December 29, 2016.  He was preceded in death by his son Malik Isaiah Smith, his paternal and maternal grandparents.  He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Denise Smith, daughters Mikaela Determan and Shaniece West, parents Willie C. Smith(Annie), Anita Hardin, parent in laws Julien and Daisy Wilson, sisters Erika Smith, Kesha Smith, LaToya Long special cousin Larry “Maine” Kirkwood, goddaughter Trinitee Harvey, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, many cousins and his church family.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, 10:00am at Faith Christian Fellowship, 1200 Racine St.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Dear Gary, You and your staff are really special people. I and my family felt so blessed that all of the funeral arrangements were in your thorough and caring hands. One helpful meeting and then you took care of all the arrangements – and we knew we need not worry about one thing.
