Racine – LaMonya Lee Day, age 30, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was born as a twin, on April 25, 1986 in Racine, Wisconsin to Bobby L. Day and Joyce L. Barker. LaMonya worked various jobs within the city of Racine. She received her formal education at Washington Park High School.
LaMonya leaves to cherish her memories, her six-year-old son, Asean Day-Gage of Racine; her mother, Joyce L. Barker of Racine; one brother, Kyron N. Barker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sisters, LaTonya L. Day (LaMonya’s twin) and Devin Day, both of Racine; uncles, Milton J. (Lynn) Love of Caledonia, Wisconsin Kirk L. Barker of Racine, Ed L. Day of Kokomo, Indiana and Irish L. (Mary) Day of Racine; aunts, Janet M. Barker, Vanessa Hasan, Danna Barker-Scott, all of Racine and Carolyn Day of Kokomo. LaMonya is also survived by three nephews, Amorien Wright Rodriguez of Madison, Wisconsin, Aaron Barker of Milwaukee, Andre Day of Racine, and one niece Alliah Barker of Milwaukee as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
LaMonya was preceded in death by her father Bobby L. Day; her daughter, Aniyah Day-Gage; Grandparents, I.L. and Jimmie L. Days, Alfonza Hayslett, Ruth Barker; and an aunt, Joanne (Dennis) Barker-Jenkins. She will truly be missed by all of those who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, 7:00pm in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd, Racine, WI. You are invited to visit with the family from 6:00pm – 7:00pm until the time of service.

Rest In Peace my sweet granddaughter. I may not have been your maternal grandma, but you always said I was your only grandma. I will miss your contagious smile, hugs and kisses. It been wonderful knowing you for these 24 years.
To my family, know that LaMonya is in a better place and we have the joy of seeing her again one day. No more suffering. Say hello to grandpa for me Monya.
