Marie M. Andersen, 88, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born in Greenbush, Minnesota on February 5, 1929 the daughter of the late Peter and Rose (nee: Dolney) Stanislawski. She was our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, and Friend.

On May 14, 1949 she was united in marriage to Edwin R. Andersen who preceded her in death on February 7, 1991. She was a long time member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Marie was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Marie was a member of the Wisconsin Women’s Bowling Association, Past President of the Racine Women’s Bowling Association, and the Racine Bowling Hall of Fame. Her numerous national bowling tourneys were a testament to her bowling talent. She also golfed, and loved a game of bridge. She never retired, working at estate sales for over twenty years.

Surviving are her children, David (Claudia Grace) Andersen, Karen Hall, all of Racine, Sue (Wayne) Snow, of Pewaukee, Donald (Pat) Andersen, of Sayner, WI, Daniel (Debbie) Andersen, and Douglas (Diane) Andersen, all of Racine; thirteen grandchildren, Dana Andersen, Dustin (Audra Sullivan) Andersen, Devin Andersen, Katie Hall, Nate Snow, Kelli (Jordan) Laufenberg, Christopher (Jennifer Thai) Andersen, Justin (Heather Ledbury) Schmalfeldt, Jake (Elizabeth Emon) Schmalfeldt, Nicholas Andersen, Alyssa Andersen, Samantha Andersen, Ryan (Brittany) Kroupa, Geoff Grace; four great grandchildren, Logan, Arabella, Maddox, and Tayllip; sister, Dorothy Wells, brother, Robert (Sue) Strand, sisters-in-law Judee Dickey, and Carole (Ed) Hodges, and brother in law Robert Holly. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine “Lori” (Bill) Widmaier, Irene Holly and brother-in-law Anthony Wells.

We will miss Mom and are grateful for the time that we had with her. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. Our feet will continue to be warmed by the slippers that she knitted. No family gathering will be the same without her meatballs. Her grandchildren will miss the bingo nights and card games. We will all remember the happy summer days at the lake. Her sense of gratitude will inspire us as all as we go forward knowing that she loved us all.

Our family would like to thank her caregivers, particularly the kind and gentle people at Ascension Wheaton Franciscan Hospital and Home Harbor.

So sorry on the loss of this wonderful cousin. I remember how she had to fix my wedding dress the day of my wedding. Never fear Marie was there to save the day! Also good memories of when you all came up summers to the farm and parked your camper. Good times were had. Rest in peace my dear cousin. Watch over all of us from above. Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family
