Racine – Waino Eugene Kleimola, 87, received the promise of eternal life on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was born in Ironwood, MI, on January 12, 1930, son of the late Waino J. and Lempi (née: Erickson) Kleimola.

Waino was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Betty Jane Bellmore, on December 15, 1973, at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.

Waino is a graduate of Luther Wright High School in Ironwood, MI. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Waino enjoyed crafts especially latch hook and cross stitch. He enjoyed travelling all over the country with Betty on bus trips. They especially loved taking the mystery bus trips with undisclosed locations. Waino was an avid card player and enjoyed passing the time playing with friends and family. Waino loved his family tremendously and enjoyed spending time with everyone.

Waino leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 43 years, Betty Kleimola; children, Waino (Diane) Kleimola, Douglas (Bonnie) Kleimola, Keith (Denise) Kleimola; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; 6 siblings; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Waino is preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Dehne; and 5 siblings.

A celebration of Waino’s life will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, 11:00am, at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.

We feel so blessed to have added Waino and Betty to our list of friends and feel so saddened that we now lost Waino. However, we really haven’t lost him because we have so many happy memories of fun times we shared together with Waino and Betty (lunches, birthday celebrations, picnics, and many, many great laughs and there were Waino’s stories – stories from the past that he would repeat over and over, but you would always listen because you knew it made him happy telling them. Our dear Waino, we know you are now telling those stories in heaven – maybe even driving your beloved Waino J car around with your long lost dog at your side! Have fun! But we miss you. Love, Will and Kathy

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
