Racine – Carol A. (nee: Theres) Jacobs, age 62, found peace on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Carol was born in Racine on April 10, 1955. She attended Wadewitz Elementary, Gifford Middle and JI Case High School. Shortly after, she met a handsome young man by the name of Guy Jacobs. Six months later they were engaged….and on September 14, 1974 in St. Joseph Catholic Church – Racine, they were united in marriage. They celebrated their 40th Anniversary of “true love” by visiting Walt Disney World in October 2014. Sadly, Guy passed away just a short time after, on December 15, 2014 as the result of a stroke. Life was never the same for Carol.

Although her main vocation in life was being a stay-at-home mom, Carol had been employed by Rudy’s Deli, The Watering Hole, Racine Unified, Buddy Squirrel and even brightened the lives of many children while being the “Easter Bunny” at Regency Mall. In recent years, Carol served as a daycare teacher at TLC and Gifford….a position she thoroughly enjoyed. Some of her hobbies included Disney movies, sewing, a fan of Shirley Temple; appreciated the music of Kenny Rogers, Bread, Dolly Parton and Alabama; watching Dancing with the Stars and hanging out with her TLC friends. Above all, she loved and cherished being with her family….especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her dear sons and daughters-in-law, Paul (Kellie) Jacobs and Jamie (Jaime) Jacobs; cherished grandchildren, Karma, Logan and Grant Jacobs; devoted sisters, Debbie Rowe and Barbie (Tim) Crane; special niece and nephews, Brittany and Chance Crane; Jeffery Rowe; step-mother, Wanda Theres; other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to her loving husband, Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly (nee: Funk) Theres; father, Norman Theres; brother, Scott Theres; niece, Tanya Rowe; and by Guy’s parents, Russell (Lou) Jacobs and Leona (Erv) Edelberg.

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. In accordance to Carol’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Memorials to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) have been suggested.

Carol was so proud of you all, felt so blessed and spoke so lovingly about you. She most recently told me that Easter was wonderful spent with family. Rest in God’s arms, precious beautiful Friend Carol. I miss you so already, your laugh, your smile, your texts, your empathy, your honesty, your FB posts. I am deeply thankful for your presence in and influence on my life as well as on my parents’ lives. Thank you. I wish we had had at least one more talk. You’re just gone too soon.

Carol how I miss your laugh. A beautiful caring person. You brought so much joy to my life. You would call me in the morning and sing “good morning to you…” When we would stay up late and I would ask you if you were sleeping, you’ would say, ” no, I’m just resting my eyes…”. Rest now Carol.

Much love and heartfelt sympathy to Jamie, Paul, Barb, and all their families. Carol was so proud of all of you, always talked about you. Carol, you have been a longtime dear friend to me as well as to my parents and I miss you. Thank you for sitting with me and asking if we could be friends on the school bus in 7th grade. We had some hilarious fun times in our youth and endured deeper harder times together. Love you forever. Thank you for all you gave to my life. Your influence and friendship have made me a stronger, better balanced person.

Hearing the passing of my dear friend Carol, broke my heart. My deepest sympathy to her family especially Jamie, Paul and Barbie.
I know God blessed our friendship of twenty years. Sharing lives journey, hopes and dreams. Celebrating together our individual and families success.
During our conversations she spoke of her love of family. Being a Mom, Grandma and Sister brought her the most contentment and joy. Carol always said,” God gave her the BEST two boys a mother could ask for.” She was VERY PROUD of both of you! When she spoke of you, her eyes twinkled and her smile was so bright.
I believe she will be the bright sunshine we feel on sunny days; and the beautiful butterflies dancing amongst the flowers.
