OCONTO (FORMERLY OF RACINE) – John F. Stich, 84, passed away at Bellin Health Oconto Hospital on Thursday, August 3, 2017.
He was born in Abrams, WI on November 21, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Erma (nee: Westcott) Stich. After graduating high school, John served his nation with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On June 27, 1955 he married Denyce Wang. She preceded him in death on February 19, 1979. He later married Doris (nee: Swartz) Wold on August 23, 1984. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2004.
John retired from American Motors/Chrysler after 32 years of employment with a perfect attendance record. He enjoyed his work as well as tinkering around his house, camping, fishing and traveling. However, his greatest loves were for his family and his dogs.
John is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Vicki Leiberg (Tim Mouw) of Oconto, Dale (Deb) Stich of Racine, Dennis (Deanna) Stich of Kenosha, Vannette Azarian (Ed Axtell) of Rochester, Darryl Stich of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Tanya, Dena, Denyce, Dennis, Aaron, Tony, Danny, Brianne, Taylor, Sam, Kody, Scott; his nine great grandchildren; his step children, Jeff (Starr) Wold, Ione (Kevin) Gleason; as well as three sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. John was also preceded in death by his grandson, Steven John Stich; his son-in-law, Tony Azarian, five brothers and five sisters.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, August 10, 2017 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A service honoring and celebrating John’s life will follow at noon. His interment with military honors will take place after the service at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Vicki for her special care and dedication to their dad for his last few years.
